DTU’s Engifest’s History

Engifest, also known as Engineers’ Fest, stands as one of the most enduring college cultural celebrations in the nation, tracing its origins back to 1974 when it was initiated by students of Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly recognized as Delhi College of Engineering.

By 2014, the festival had already established a diverse lineup of events, featuring performances by notable artists and celebrities such as Mohit Chauhan and Hard Kaur. The following year, in 2015, Engifest expanded its horizons with captivating performances from Raftaar, Manj Musik, and others.

The momentum continued to build in 2016, as a thousand hearts resonated with the soulful poetry of Piyush Mishra. Then, in 2018, Engifest reached unprecedented heights with live performances by stand-up comedian Abijit Ganguly, musician Amit Trivedi, Punjabi sensation Guri, and the EDM night headliner, DJ MAG #35 Bassjackers.

In anticipation of Engifest ’19, excitement soared as DJ MAG #25, Quintino, was slated to grace the stage with a live performance.

Engifest 2020 marked a milestone with an all-time high attendance of over 1.5 lakh students. Stars like Sidhu Moosewala enthralled the audience with his popular Punjabi tunes, making his first appearance in any college festival. Papon’s soulful melodies left hearts melting, while rap sensation Divine set the stage ablaze with his tracks, and hip-hop artist King got everyone grooving to the beat.
