Diwali, the festival of lights, illuminated the campus of CVS College as it hosted a remarkable two-day extravaganza named “Deep Mahotsav.” This Diwali mela not only embraced the spirit of the festival but also stood as a beacon of environmental consciousness and cultural richness. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including the DM of Delhi, and high-ranking officials from the MCD, adding prestige to the festivities.

One of the key highlights of Deep Mahotsav was its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability. In a groundbreaking move, the entire event was declared plastic-free. With the aim of reducing ecological impact, every stall, from hair braiding to food vendors, refrained from using plastic, promoting sustainable alternatives. The initiative emphasized the college’s dedication to a greener, more eco-friendly celebration of Diwali.

Inspiring Talks and Motivational Sessions

Students in the college fest had the privilege of receiving motivation and insights from respected dignitaries, including the DM of Delhi. These sessions aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and community engagement among the young minds, inspiring them to contribute positively to society.

Cultural Extravaganza

Deep Mahotsav resonated with vibrant cultural performances that added a touch of elegance and excitement to the celebration. The college’s cultural societies, including Appregio and Manthan, showcased their talents through classical and western music performances, as well as a mesmerizing representation of Indian traditional dressing by Manthan, the fashion society.

Inter-College Competitions

The event further amplified the celebratory spirit with inter-college competitions, including rangoli making and a “paint the bag” competition. These competitions not only fostered creativity but also provided a platform for students to showcase their artistic skills.

Supporting Local Businesses

Deep Mahotsav took a conscious step towards supporting local businesses by creating beautiful and vibrant stall setups. From hair braiding to diya sellers and food vendors, these stalls showcased the diversity of local entrepreneurship, encouraging students to appreciate and engage with the talents within their community.
