Suga and J-Hope’s captivating solo documentaries headed to theatrical release

BTS members J-Hope and Suga will be bringing their solo documentaries to theatres worldwide on June 17, 2023. The documentaries, titled “J-Hope in the Box” and “Suga: Road to D-Day,” will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their respective solo albums and their personal journeys as artists. 

In a heart-warming video, Suga and J-Hope join forces to deliver a special announcement, captivating fans with their undeniable chemistry as the beloved duo ‘SOPE.’ The video kicks off with J-Hope’s suggestion for a door-opening act, setting the stage for a memorable moment. As they take turns delivering the announcement, the duo shares a spirited hi-5, further amplifying the excitement among fans. 

“J-Hope in the Box” takes fans on a journey through the creation of J-Hope’s debut solo album, “Jack in the Box.” The documentary follows J-Hope as he works on the album in the studio, collaborates with other artists, and prepares for his historic headlining performance at Lollapalooza. 

“Suga: Road to D-Day” chronicles Suga’s journey as he travels the world in search of inspiration for his solo album, “D-Day.” The documentary follows Suga as he meets with producers and artists and records music in different cities. 

“The stories that I have to tell as Agust D are heavier than those of Suga, right? I don’t have much energy left in me to continue to tell those heavier stories, because I poured out my soul in this album,” Suga said. 

Celebrating 10 years of BTS 

Both documentaries originally premiered on Disney+ and Weverse and will now be available to watch in theatres for a limited time. Tickets for the screenings will go on sale on May 16/17, depending on the local time zone. 

The release of the BTS solo documentaries comes at a time when the group is celebrating its 10th anniversary. BTS debuted in June 2013 and has since become one of the most popular K-pop groups in the world. They have won numerous awards, including a Grammy nomination, and have broken numerous records. 

The BTS solo documentaries are a chance for fans to get to know their favourite members even better. They are also a testament to the group’s continued success and growth. 

Here are some additional details about the documentaries: 

“J-Hope in the Box” is 85 minutes long. 

“Suga: Road to D-Day” is 80 minutes long. 

The documentaries are both rated PG-13. 

The documentaries will be screened in theatres worldwide.
