Jimin intends to release his first solo album in March. During a Weverse live stream, the BTS member revealed that his album would be available to fans “around March” time.
Last month, Big Hit Music announced that Jimin’s first solo album is in the works. The South Korean music label emphazised that there was no release date to reveal yet but confirmed the album’s existence after Sports Donga reported that the 27-year-old K-Pop star intended to release the album in February.
“I’m currently preparing many things I can do with you guys around that time. I’m planning lots of different things we can do to have fun together and enjoy ourselves, so I think you can safely look forward to it,” Jimin said.
“You’ve been waiting so long that I wanted to quickly announce this news before starting [the rest of the broadcast].“
Jimin worked in the studio with Ariana Grande’s producer last year.
He has been dropping hints about his future solo music, including working in Los Angeles with BTS collaborators Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, and studio whiz TBHits.
In his home South Korea, Jimin has already had many solo singles, including “Lie” from 2016 and “Serendipity” from 2017, and “Filter” from 2020.
Additionally, he recently collaborated with Ha Sung-Woon on the song “With You” for the soundtrack of the South Korean TV drama “Our Blues.“
After the song was released in June, Jimin made it known that he was busy working on his new “image.”
