BTS star Jungkook to make solo debut at Global Citizen Festival

Jungkook, a star of the global sensation BTS, is set to make his solo debut at this year’s Global Citizen Festival, a highly anticipated event addressing pressing global issues. The 26-year-old will take the stage as a co-headliner alongside other renowned artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Conan Gray, Lauryn Hill, and more.

This annual festival, which champions the fight against extreme poverty, climate change awareness, and gender equality, will be streamed live on Global Citizen’s website. Additionally, it will be accessible through various platforms, including Amazon’s Prime Video, AppleTV, Hulu, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Scheduled for September 23rd, the festival will be broadcast live from the iconic Central Park in New York City. Despite being a free-ticketed event, it attracts a global audience deeply committed to these vital causes.

Jungkook expressed his excitement about the upcoming performance, stating, “I’m so thrilled to join this year’s Global Citizen Festival as a headliner! The festival sheds light on important causes and drives action, and I’m happy to take part in it. I can’t wait to perform in front of many people at the Great Lawn in Central Park.”

This isn’t Jungkook’s first interaction with the international advocacy organization. Two years ago, he performed at the festival alongside his fellow BTS band members, sharing the stage with the iconic band Coldplay.

The announcement of his solo debut at the festival follows the release of his first solo single, “Seven,” featuring Latto. This track, released on July 14th, immediately made waves, debuting at the top of the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Several prominent international advocates will also participate in the event alongside a host of celebrity guests, including Bill Nye, Bridget Moynahan, Busy Philipps, Carmelo Anthony, Common, Connie Britton, Danai Gurira, Gayle King, Jordan Fisher, Lewis Pugh, Padma Lakshmi, Phoebe Gates, Rachel Brosnahan, and Sophia Bush.
