Ari Joshua shares classic rock vocal driven ‘Star Light Mountain’ single as part of 24 original works in 2024 via Music Factory Records.
“Star Light Mountain” featuring Ari Joshua on guitar, Russ Lawton on drums, and Ray Paczkowski on organ, drops this Friday along with East Coast tour dates and new recording dates. With Ari Joshua’s down to earth vocals and emotionally delivered guitar solos, Josephine Howell’s soulful backing vocals, Russ Lawton’s dynamic drumming, and Ray Paczkowski’s masterful organ work, the trio, filled out with electric bass, and layers of sound creates an modern take on a classic rock groove that captivates listeners from start to finish. This release showcases the trio’s chemistry, synergy and virtuosity in a way that compliments their previous 12 releases.
In conjunction with the release an announcement of East Coast performance dates featuring a growing line up including Kris Yunker & Ben Atkind from Goose, Matt Dolliver, and members of Dead Set, Joe Doria and more tba. The track opens with Ari Joshua’s guitar licks and Ray Paczkowski’s organ blending into playing the main riff in unison, with Russ Lawton’s drums locking into the groove alongside. Ari Joshua’s vocals interplay with Josephine Howell’s background vocals are propelled forward by Russ’ drums. The track culminates in a ripping, sweeping guitar solo from Ari Joshua that is sure to melt faces. Tonally, the track fits well alongside mixes from roots rock bands like the Black Crowes or the Alabama Shakes, as well as classic rock jam bands Dead and Company or The Trey Anastasio Band, of which Russ & Ray also are long time members.
With recording by Ben Collette from Tank Recording in Burlington Vermont, overdubs by Aaron Harmonson at Ari Joshua’s Music Factory Studios, and a high-resolution mix by Jonathan Plum of London Bridge Studios, the final recording of Star Light Mountain is a true cross country collaboration, crossing both the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Cascades and Olympics of Washington. Guitarist Ari Joshua, born in Cape Town, South Africa, and raised in America, brings his exceptional talent and musical vision to all his pursuits. As a graduate of The New School in NYC, he has collaborated with a wide range of music industry luminaries. After the pandemic, Ari resolved to share his vault of recordings with the world. Since then, there have been a steady wave of releases featuring artists like Robert Glasper, Delvon Lamarr, Skerik, John Medeski, Members of The Trey Anastasio Band, and many more.
