Titktok extends video length

Videos on TikTok can now be up to 10 minutes long, which is more than three times longer than the previous maximum length for videos recorded on the app.

TikTok, a social media platform with over 1 billion monthly active users who have short-form films sent to their TikTok feeds owing to an algorithm that matches subscribers’ interests with the topics of the videos they watch.  Matt Navarra, a social media expert, made an intriguing observation when he tweeted, “TikTok creeping in on YouTube territory. I can now upload videos up to 10 minutes long.”

Navarra’s tweet also has instructions from TikTok regarding the upgrade, telling users to make sure they have the most recent version of the TikTok app before recording content that might last up to 10 minutes. “We are always thinking about new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience.” We are not sure whether we can now call it a short video-making app or not!

Dancing, lip-syncing, singing, comedy, and other forms of entertainment are all popular on TikTok. But video tutorials, which viewers may be able to watch in their entirety rather than in segments, are where the extra time comes in handy. For example, instead of asking consumers to watch three or four shorter bits, you might take just one long 10-minute video to watch. This feature is very interactive and will keep users engaged.
