Pop sensation Selena Gomez has put an end to recent rumors of a feud with fellow artist Dua Lipa, stemming from her decision to unfollow Dua on Instagram earlier this summer. During an interview with Fast Company, the 31-year-old singer addressed the unfollowing incident and vehemently denied any conflict with the “Levitating” hitmaker.
In the interview, Gomez discussed her beauty brand and clarified that unfollowing Dua Lipa was accidental.
She explained, “It was an accident! I was just cleaning up some of my Instagram. Then somebody called me and was like, ‘What happened with Dua?!'”
Selena Gomez shared a photo on her Instagram to further quell any doubts about their relationship, showcasing herself wearing a dress from Dua Lipa’s collaborative collection with Versace.
The post included the caption, “A little Versace/Dua moment,” signifying her support and admiration for her fellow artist.
This isn’t the first time Selena Gomez has had to address rumors of a feud. Back in September, speculation arose that she conflicted with Miley Cyrus after both singers announced the release of their latest singles on the same day.
However, Gomez promptly dispelled these rumors by addressing the coincidence on social media.
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “@mileycyrus and I both have a SINGLE SOON, and we are releasing on the same day. We have been friends since we USED TO BE YOUNG. Excited for August 25!!!”
Gomez further revealed that her final breakup with Justin Bieber in spring 2018, following their tumultuous 8-year on-and-off relationship, prompted her to quit Instagram.
Notably, Bieber swiftly moved on and began dating his now-wife, Hailey Bieber, just a few months later, in June 2018. They got engaged a month later and tied the knot in September 2018.
“I had just gotten my heart broken. I didn’t need to see what everyone was doing,” Selena said. “Then there were those moments of not feeling positive about how I looked because of what I’d see on Instagram. Wow, I wish my body looked like that.”
