Former One Direction star Liam Payne has been banned from driving driving following an incident of speeding in London earlier this year. The musician was captured by a speed camera exceeding the speed limit in West London in February.
Liam Payne was recorded driving at 43mph in a 30mph zone, leading to legal consequences for the pop singer. Lavender Hill Magistrates Court convened on October 9th to address the matter, and Liam has been handed a six-month driving suspension and a fine of $357 (£293).
The penalty was attributed to “repeat offending.”
In a written statement to the court regarding the speeding incident, the 30-year-old singer expressed his lack of awareness of the speed limit and apologized for the violation.
Court Hearing and Financial Situation
Earlier this month, Liam Payne was instructed to pay a fine of $122 (£100) and received three penalty points on his driving license. A second hearing was scheduled to “consider disqualification from driving.”
When questioned about his financial situation during the hearing, Liam asserted that he is self-employed and unable to provide the necessary financial information at this stage. However, he assured the court of his commitment to “pay any fine imposed within 14 days.”
“I am self-employed and cannot provide the information at this stage,” Liam stated.

Recent Health Struggles
This driving ban follows a period of health challenges for the pop star. Liam Payne was recently hospitalized in Lake Como, Italy, due to severe kidney pain. Consequently, he canceled a tour in South America, citing a “serious kidney infection” that had previously led to hospitalization.
According to media reports, the singer fell ill while celebrating his one-year anniversary with his partner, Kate, at their holiday property. He was swiftly rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.
Despite his health setback, Liam Payne made a public appearance earlier this month, marking his return as he attended various events during Paris Fashion Week.
