BTS Jungkook reveals humble aspirations despite massive success

Despite his tremendous achievements and global fame as a member of BTS, Jungkook opens up about his down-to-earth perspective on his success and reveals his ultimate musical goals in an exclusive interview with Weverse Magazine.

The celebrated K-pop icon recently launched his debut solo single ‘Seven’, featuring American rapper Latto, garnering widespread attention and acclaim. However, in the interview, Jungkook admits that he doesn’t quite see himself as a “giant pop star” despite how others may perceive him.

“It’s hazy. I just … I only have one big goal: to be a giant pop star. I’m not thinking about what the next concept I pursue is going to be or anything,” BTS Jungkook told Weverse Magazine, emphasizing his desire to be even more appreciated and constantly improve as an artist.

He humbly acknowledges that while others may consider him so, he aspires to achieve even greater heights in his musical journey.

He expressed his longing to experience the full scope of being a renowned pop star and to receive that kind of recognition from fans and himself.

“In a word: cool. That’s the whole reason I’m doing this. I want to be that kind of pop star someday – I want to be able to really experience that feeling. I hope the day comes when I can look at myself from a third-person perspective and give myself that kind of recognition. I’ll know I’m that kind of pop star once I can do that,” Jungkook said.

About ‘Seven’ and collaboration with Latto

Elaborating on the creative process behind ‘Seven‘, Jungkook revealed that the song was an impromptu decision driven by his instant connection to the track.

“Producer Bang Si-hyuk just played it for me, and it was so good, I said, ‘Oh, I have to do this one,’” he recalled.

This week, Jungkook delighted fans with two remixes of ‘Seven’, showcasing a dance-oriented ‘Summer Mix’ and a ‘Band Ver’ that amplifies the acoustic guitar and incorporates traditional drums.

Regarding his collaboration with Latto, Jungkook applauded her “liveliness” and unique charm, emphasizing that her contribution perfectly complemented the song’s theme of sexual fantasy.

“I thought it’s important that it suits the song’s overall mood, and Latto’s unique charm came through very well,” he shared with Variety.

With such candid revelations about his aspirations and creative process, Jungkook continues to inspire his fans and prove that, despite his immense success, he remains grounded and focused on his artistic growth. As BTS fans eagerly await more solo endeavors from their beloved star, Jungkook’s dedication to his craft and humility continue to shine bright.
