Britney Spears faces traffic violation, attorney calls it ‘parking ticket equivalent’

Pop icon Britney Spears recently found herself on the wrong side of the law when she was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol last month. Court records obtained by Page Six reveal that Spears was stopped for driving without a license and failing to provide proof of insurance. The violations incurred a fine of $1,140.

In response, Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, informed the media that “Britney always had a license and insurance; this is the functional equivalent of a parking ticket.” Another source corroborated this, stating that the singer possessed a valid license and insurance at the time.

Spears’ traffic incident wasn’t her only encounter with law enforcement during the month.

On September 27, police visited Britney Spears at her Thousand Oaks, California, residence after a video of the singer dancing with knives raised concerns. Police conducted a wellness check but were informed via an intercom by Spears’ security that she was “fine” and “nothing was going on.”

Highly Anticipated Memoir and Musical Aspirations

Amid these events, the pop sensation is preparing for a significant release.

Britney Spears is gearing up to unveil her eagerly awaited memoir, “The Woman In Me,” which is scheduled to be released on October 24.

In addition to her literary endeavors, Spears expressed an interest in musical collaborations, particularly with Beyoncé. In a recent Instagram post, she hinted at covering Beyoncé’s 2016 song “Daddy Lessons” and even mentioned adding a new rap verse. Spears acknowledged that many remixes of her songs have been created without her knowledge, and she playfully mentioned the prospect of meeting Jay-Z for the collaboration.

“Daddy Lessons” was initially featured in Beyoncé’s award-winning “Lemonade” album and made its mark on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at no. 41. A remix of the song featuring The Chicks was also released in 2016, with the group performing it at the 50th annual Country Music Association Awards.

Britney Spears continues to captivate fans with her artistic ventures and playful nods to fellow pop icons, most recently emulating Shakira’s iconic knife-wielding performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
