Bandland: India’s Premier Music Festival Set to Rock Bengaluru in December 2023

In a groundbreaking development in the music landscape of the Indian subcontinent, Bengaluru, often referred to as India’s Silicon Valley, is gearing up to host the inaugural edition of ‘Bandland,’ the latest Intellectual Property (IP) from BookMyShow. This exciting fusion of India’s diverse cultural tapestry with the vibrant rhythms of Bengaluru’s illustrious music scene marks a significant milestone for BookMyShow, the leading entertainment destination in India, as it rekindles the legacy of the country’s original rock music capital. ‘Bandland,’ produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment experiential arm of BookMyShow, promises to celebrate music cherished worldwide. It will feature both iconic and emerging artists from India and around the globe, elevating the music festival experience to new heights and capturing the essence of the city’s magnificent music landscape on a grand scale.

Scheduled as a two-day musical and cultural extravaganza, Bandland will take place on December 16th and 17th, 2023, at the Embassy International Riding School Ground in Bengaluru. BookMyShow Live will lead the charge in organizing Bandland in the city, to promote local art and culture, offering an unforgettable experience for music enthusiasts, paying homage to the country’s original music capital, and reigniting the spark that once defined the city’s music scene, reconnecting it with India’s thriving rock community.

The inaugural edition of Bandland boasts an impressive lineup, featuring a constellation of 12 international and homegrown indie-rock luminaries. Legendary British rock band Deep Purple and American rock icons Goo Goo Dolls are set to headline the festival, known for their unforgettable hits like ‘Smoke on the Water’ and ‘Iris,’ respectively. Sharing the stage with these headliners are American indie rockers The War on Drugs, a treat for fans of Bruce Springsteen and Pink Floyd, and Australian punks Amyl and The Sniffers, who are making their exciting debut in India.

The roster for the two days includes notable names from the Indian music scene, such as Parikrama, one of India’s oldest bands known for their signature classical rock fusion, and Thermal and a Quarter (TAAQ), both of whom join Deep Purple for the second time in the country after their supporting act with the band in 1994 and 2001, respectively. The lineup is rounded out by next-gen bands like Parvaaz, The F16s, Aswekeepsearching, Skrat, Pacifist, and The Earth Below.

Bandland promises a diverse range of performances across multiple stages, ensuring there’s something for every music aficionado, from warm winter afternoons to golden sunsets. Attendees can immerse themselves in vibrant art installations inspired by the city, savor a variety of fusion cuisines, and enjoy unique mixology under Bengaluru’s pleasant skies over two days.
