“One day while playing guitar in my studio I was thinking about my crush, suddenly this thought struck me that there are so many things that I want to say to them, but three magical words are enough to show my affection and care towards them,” says Reshabh Chhabra when asked about the idea behind the song.
In continuation he says, “And with this thought, I wrote the whole song that evening only. It took me another 3-4 days to record everything and make the entire music around the thought. Within a week I had the complete song with me. I really wanted to infuse some Indian classical elements while keeping the indie feel of the song, hence I recorded some Tabla tunes later and had the final version ready in under one month.”
Justifying the Title: ‘Baatein Hazaar 3 Lafz’
The song’s title, as Reshabh explains, holds a profound meaning: “Baatein Hazaar, Teen he toh lafz hai,” encapsulating the simplicity of expressing love with just three words. Reshabh shares, “Amongst thousands of things a person wants to say to their crush/loved one, those three magical words are enough to convey the most complete emotion, which is love.”
