ZHANGYE releases defiant new single ‘Own Way’ featuring Janieck

In less than twelve months, DJ and producer ZHANGYE has become one of the most promising names to emerge from China’s electronic scene. In addition to receiving early backing from Quintino and former No. 1 DJ Dimitri Vegas, ZHANGYE’s maiden release earlier this year was a success because of his deep understanding of classical music and natural sense of a dancefloor-driven beat.

ZHANGYE now calls on pop artist Janieck for his next smash hit ‘Own Way.’ An enchanting guitar melody is plucked under Janieck’s distinct vocals, inspiring you to follow your intuition without doubt or comparison. Whimsical soaring effects whirl around a steady building kick which ultimately succumbs to an uplifting tropical house-infused melodic hook indulged in a grooving hedonistic beat.

The new single follows hot off the release of electro ballad ‘Wherever The Wind Blows,’ which saw ZHANGYE team up with singer/songwriter KARRA receiving widespread support, including that of DJ Mag Germany and amassing over a quarter of a million streams in just a matter of weeks.

‘Wherever The Wind Blows’ even scored ZHANGYE chart success with a #1 in the QQ Music Electronic Weekly Chart, and following weeks spent in the Top 3, as well as featuring in the QQ Music Electronic Monthly Chart Top 3.

Alongside his music career, ZHANGYE is also a well-known and respected figure in China’s financial landscape. Having founded award-winning venture capital firm Cyanhill Capital which specializes in early-stage consumer investments, ZHANGYE often draws on his experiences in the business world to craft his emotive and insightful lyrics.

Hailing from the Netherlands, singer/songwriter and actor Janieck (Devy) blurs the lines of acoustic and dance music. Chart-topping hit ‘Reality’ saw the Dutch artist collaborate with DJ/producer Lost Frequencies.

Meanwhile, he joined forces with YouNotUs and Senex on ‘Narcotic,’ which underwent official remixes from Dimitri Vegas VS Ummet Ozcan and Anton Powers.
