Chicago-based Indie Rock solo artist Killed by The Architects has released his debut self-titled album. Moody and dense with unique, emotive vocals, this release is recommended for fans of DIIV, Interpol, or Joy Division.
Biography:
Jamie Berkes is Killed by The Architects. He comes from a humble background and born and raised in rural Lowa. He moved to Chicago in 1998 to pursue a career in medicine which he practices to this day. Music has always served a guidepost in his life; a place to run, a place to hide, a place to rejoice, a place to cry. In 2019, he decided to pursue his passion for music, although he didn’t know how to play an instrument.
Under the mentorship of Chicago artist and producer, Antony Ablan, he has created a unique album that is difficult to categorize, yet feels familiar. The music created by Killed by The Architects is the amalgamation of decades of musical influences and real life experiences finally uniting. Their debut album weaves real stories into dark and emotionally powerful songs. It is a tribute to lost youth, regret, dystopia, and existentialism.
