“Zindagi mein koi kasak na ho toh zindagi poori nahin hoti,” says the director, meaning that the life is incomplete without a touch of yearning.

Behind the Scenes: Crafting the Melody

“Ishq Afeemi, like a baby has been nurtured with effort and love, has undergone a lot of changes in terms of music, lyrics, composition, and mixing/mastering. The story behind Ishq Afeemi is quite long; the song was originally created in 2019, and Reshabh Chhabra and I started working on it together in 2021, building it from scratch.
Talking about the video, it captures the old Delhi vibes with a classic love story that leads to a grey or dark climax. Working with the entire GrooveNexus team, including the director, producer, and model, was an amazing experience. It’s something I’ll always remember.
My message for fellow artists: “Stay focused on your work, trust the process and give it time. Manifestation is real, and you can achieve it with true faith in your work.
Music is my life! My future plans for my music is under wraps, but they will be significant and valuable at the same time.”

“Let me take you behind the scenes of the creation of this song, covering everything from the lyrics and composition to the initial draft and the outcome.
In 2021, I received a draft of the song, featuring only vocals and a metronome by Knojia. I instantly envisioned the entire track after listening to it for the first time. I aimed for a blend of the old-school romantic vibe from the 2000s, infused with a touch of melancholy using pads and keys.
Though it took me a few weeks to produce the initial demo, it lacked the emotions I envisioned. Determined to capture the essence, I gradually added Indian elements like tabla, spoon, harmonium, etc. The process extended over a few months as I recorded and shaped the tones, leading to the final presentation for the audience to enjoy.”

“The narrative of the music video is set in the enchanting backdrop of old Delhi. The scenes are carefully set in a typical old Delhi setup, portraying the essence of a young Indian girl adorned in traditional attire and a love-struck young man.
Amidst the lively streets, our lens captured the vibrant scenes of shopping, street food, and the delightful Golgappe (panipuri). Throughout the entire shoot, we embraced a multitude of costume changes, adding a dynamic visual element to the storytelling.
A subtle play of colours unfolds symbolically in the lyrics enhancing the emotional layers of our tale. Through our visuals and narrative, we aimed to capture the essence of this poignant truth, inviting the audience into the heart of our story.”
