An emotional Selena Gomez declared she’s “grateful to be alive” in the trailer for her upcoming documentary, My Mind & Me. A two-minute teaser for My Mind & Me was released on Monday to coincide with World Mental Health Day. The trailer highlights the need to understand the importance of mental health.
The singer and actress opened up about numerous health issues for the first time, including struggles with anxiety and depression and a kidney transplant in 2017 due to her battle with autoimmune lupus.
“Just be who you are, Selena,” she begins. “No cares about what you’re doing. It’s about who I am, being O.K. with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.”
Further in the video, Selena reflects on her desire to promote mental health initiatives.
“Let me make a promise: I will stop living like this. How do I learn how to breathe my breath again? My whole life, since I was a kid, I’ve been working. I don’t wanna be super famous, but I know that if I’m here, I have to use that for good,” the 30-year-old pop star said.
Selena added that her ” connection ” with her supporters helps her “get out of my head.”
“That I’m not good enough. That’s something that I felt a lot growing up. I’m still here to use whatever I have to help someone else.”
The documentary will release on November 4, 2022, on Apple TV+.
