Olivia Rodrigo is gearing up for 2023 as she has teased new songs for the next year. The 19-year-old singer expressed gratitude to her followers for tuning in to her songs this year and acknowledged how “excited” she is for all the new music “that 2023 will bring.”
Olivia is the first female artist to have three solo tracks on a single album receive one billion Spotify streams. She has already seen tremendous success on the streaming service this year.
“I just wanted to say thank you so much for listening to my music this year. I really, truly couldn’t be more grateful, and I am so excited for next year and all of the new things and new music that 2023 will bring,” Olivia thanked her fans via a recorded audio message.
According to a tweet by Chart Data, she achieved history when her third smash single from “SOUR,” “deja vu,” passed the one billion stream milestone. Additionally, reaching the milestone was “good 4 u” and “drivers licence.”
Dan Nigro, Olivia’s producer, confirmed earlier rumours that they were hard at work on the follow-up to “SOUR” by posting a studio photo of the pair on his Instagram Story in August.
Following the record-breaking success of her debut album, the singer reconnected with the producer responsible for all but one of the album’s 11 songs.
“Olivia’s debut was one of the biggest in years. She really did something special when she was in the studio with Dan. She wants the follow-up to evolve her sound so it isn’t the same. But she feels like she and Dan are a dream team when they get in the studio, so she is hoping they can make more magic together,” a source said.
