Nicki Minaj to host and perform at 2023 MTV Video Music Awards 

In a thrilling announcement, MTV has revealed that superstar rapper Nicki Minaj will take center stage as the host and performer at this year’s highly anticipated MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). 

The 40-year-old rapper’s return to the VMAs has ignited excitement among fans and the music industry. MTV took to social media to express their enthusiasm, stating, “SO EXCITED to have @NICKIMINAJ BACK as our emcee at the #VMAs this year!!!!” 

Nicki Minaj co-hosted the VMAs the previous year, sharing the stage with LL Cool J and Jack Harlow. In addition to her hosting duties, she delivered a show-stopping performance with a nine-song medley that left the audience in awe. 

This year, Nicki Minaj will take the stage as the solo emcee, and fans can anticipate a scintillating performance of her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You.” 

With a career marked by immense success and artistic innovation, Nicki Minaj has accumulated an impressive track record at the VMAs. Over the years, she has garnered six VMAs from 25 nominations. In 2022, she was awarded the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, a testament to her enduring impact on the music video medium. 

Adding to the excitement, the coveted Video Vanguard Award will be presented to international superstar Shakira this year. This award has previously been bestowed upon iconic artists like Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, BeyoncĂ©, and Pink. 

Nicki Minaj’s dominance at this year’s VMAs also extends to nominations. She has been nominated for six awards, including the coveted Video of the Year category for her “Super Freaky Girl” hit track, released in 2022. 

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards promises to be an unforgettable night with an all-star lineup of performers, including Olivia Rodrigo, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Lil Wayne, Doja Cat, Demi Lovato, Kelsea Ballerini, Maneskin, and Shakira. 

Viewers can catch all the action when the VMAs air live on MTV on September 12th, 2023, from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. This year’s VMAs are shaping up to be a celebration of music and artistry not to be missed.
