The mother of Gully Boy rapper MC Tod Fod, who died earlier this week, has revealed that her son suffered two heart attacks in four months and had also undergone surgery. Dharmesh Parmar, better known by his stage name MC Tod Fod, was 24. However, the cause of his death was not yet known.
Dharmesh featured in the 2018 superhit film Gully Boy directed by Zoya Akhtar. Dharmesh, who was among the 54 contributors in the film, lent his voice to the song India 91. The film had a solid star cast, with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Siddhant Chaturvedi playing significant roles.
Dharmesh’s mother has also said that her son was very excited about his Holi special performance in Nasik.
“Dharmesh had had two heart attacks before this. We learned about it when he had his second heart attack at home a few months ago. He had gone with his friends on a Ladakh trip where he got his first heart attack four months ago. He also underwent heart surgery, but he never used to rest,” Dharmesh’s mother told Dainik Bhaskar.
“He was crazy for rap and loved music more than his own life. My child is now gone, and I could not do anything to save him,” she added.
Dharmesh’s mother further revealed her son celebrated Raksha Bandhan just a day before Holi.
“Perhaps he knew he was not going to return home. He celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan just a day before Holi (when he left for Nasik). He has two younger sisters. I do not know what came to his mind, but he celebrated Rakhi with his sisters and his aunt’s daughters,” she said
