Stephen’ tWitch’ Boss died by suicide earlier this week. Justin Timberlake and Ellen DeGeneres are among the host of celebrities to pay emotional tributes to the star DJ-dancer. Stephen was 40 years old.
Justin Timberlake took to Twitter to mourn Stephen’s “heartbreaking” death.
“It’s heartbreaking to hear that someone who brought so much joy to a room was hurting so much behind closed doors. I’ve known Twitch for over 20 years through the dance community – he always lit everything up. You just never know what someone is really going through. Sending light to his beautiful family in this dark, confusing time. You will be missed, Sir. Rest Easy,” Timberlake wrote alongside pictures of Stephen dancing.
Stephen was also known as the DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He started his tenure at The Ellen Show in 2014 and was later promoted to co-executive producer in 2020.

Additionally, the dancer DJ was featured in Disney’s The Hip Hop Nutcracker, released this year, and movies including Step Up: All In and Magic Mike XXL. He has also finished as a runner-up on So You Think You Can Dance and went on to judge season 17. Stephen frequently uploaded dance videos to TikTok with his wife, a talented dancer.
Hollywood star Channing Tatum, who collaborated with Stephen on the 2015 film Magic Mike XXL, posted a behind-the-scenes picture from the set on Instagram and expressed his inability to accept Stephen’s passing.
“I have no words. There aren’t any. My head or heart cannot understand this. There is just so much… i don’t know where to begin. I love you. I’ll see you again, my friend. Until then,” Channing wrote.
