BTS book Beyond the Story

A press release from BigHit, the group’s management agency, stated, “Please look forward to the vivid voices of BTS shared in this book, and we sincerely thank ARMY for continuing to support BTS and their journey.”

Authored by Myeongseok Kang, “Beyond the Story” expertly weaves a narrative previously shared through various mediums, including blogs, YouTube videos, magazine articles, and countless live video chats. The book offers a comprehensive account of BTS’s musical odyssey, featuring fresh insights and interviews with the members.

Fans, affectionately known as ARMYs, wasted no time acquiring copies of the book, eager to delve into its contents. Social media platforms quickly became abuzz with intriguing details shared by fans about the novel’s revelations.

Unjustifiable hatred faced by BTS

During the peak of their success in 2016 and 2017, BTS encountered unprecedented fame and international recognition for their inspiring work. However, some anti-fans struggled to accept their meteoric rise, resorting to spreading hatred and launching attacks against the group. These individuals, driven by a disdain for their success, propagated false information and twisted the idols’ words, using social media to tarnish their reputations.

As fans delved into the book, they discovered the struggles and animosity the group faced during their earlier years of success. This revelation shed light on the underlying reasons behind the unjustifiable hate directed towards BTS. Fans highlighted the notorious slander in the K-pop community, which can easily tarnish a group’s reputation for personal gain.

“We were a group in our early twenties, and there were even teenagers among us… What did they dislike so much to do that to us? Why did they hate us?” Suga wrote.

V and Jimin’s resolve

One of the book’s stories shared a significant moment when V and Jimin encountered a conflict. While filming the drama series “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth,” V faced a challenging moment and feared that his performance might receive criticism, potentially impacting BTS’s image.

V recounted, “I was in the midst of juggling the ‘Hwarang’ shoot and the tour, and that day, I finished the drama shoot and had to come right back to prep for the album… but I was so hungry. I hadn’t had a chance to eat. So I asked the manager to order some dumplings, and I was eating during choreography practice.”

“But Jimin didn’t know my situation, so he said we should eat after practice, and we had a squabble. The hyungs told us to talk it out among ourselves, so we came outside and talked, but we only talked about our own perspectives, so we just kept repeating the same things over and over again.”

Fortunately, the conflict was resolved a few days later over drinks, strengthening their bond as a group.

BTS’s 10-year journey, as shared in “Beyond the Story,” continues to captivate fans, deepening their appreciation for the challenges and triumphs the group experienced along the way.
