While BTS took home the prestigious Artist of the Year title at the American Music Awards, American rapper Megan Thee Stallion recorded three wins.
At this American Music Awards 2021, BTS owned the night by winning three of the prestigious awards and taking the stage twice to deliver high-energy performances. The BTS Group- Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook won the pop categories with the help of their dedicated armies.
They won every award for which they were nominated-favourite pop duo or group (for the third time in a row); favorite pop song (“Butter”), and the coveted artist of the year award (for the first time). In an incredibly heartwarming moment, after winning “Artist of the year”, RM remarked that he “seriously forgot what he was going to say,” adding: “Yeah, I’m nervous. Yeah, baby.” He continued, “Nobody could have ever bet on us standing here receiving this award. Except y’all, ARMY. Except y’all. Seven boys from Korea, united by a love for music. Met the love and support from all the armies all over the world. This whole thing is a miracle. Seriously, we’ll never take this for granted.”
American rapper Megan Thee Stallion recorded three wins — “Favorite Trending Song” for ‘Body’, “Female Hip-Hop Artist” and “Hip-Hop Album of the Year” for ‘Good News’.
