Delhi-based, 24 years-old, Hasit Nanda is one of the few pianists our country can proudly boast of. It was at the age of 3 when his curious little fingers, on hitting a perfect C major scale on a keyboard with his eyes closed, held his teacher in awe of his musical genius. Since then his fingers never left hitting the keyboard. From taking piano lessons to learning classical music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, he kept sharpening his natural ability to play by ear without any kind of notations. Back in 2007, he took to YouTube to upload a random low-quality cover which showcased his innate talent. The rest is history! Hasit publishes piano tutorials on YouTube.
The moment he was introduced to Dubstep and EDM, he knew he has found a world full of opportunities. Combining and coalescing his love for EDM and piano made Hasit the first pianist to make his own renditions of ‘oh-so-popular’ EDM songs. By 2014, his cover for Hardwell‘s, then unreleased track, “Young Again” bagged him the appreciation of Hardwell. Soon he started climbing the stairs of success, followed by likes of KSHMR, Avicii, Martin Garrix. He featured in the official Ultra Music Festival Aftermovies. Therefore, became not only the first Indian to have reached the top 10 but to have won Jarrod Radnich’s Pirates of the Caribbean Worldwide Piano Competition.
