Virgin Music Group, the leading global partner for independent artists, labels, and entrepreneurs, announced today the extension of its partnership with Play DMF, a prominent Mumbai-based company founded by producer, actor, and entrepreneur Anshul Garg. This new long-term agreement solidifies the global collaboration between Play DMF and Virgin Music Group well into the next decade.
Play DMF, one of India’s most successful entertainment companies, boasts a YouTube channel with over 5 million subscribers and has produced numerous hit tracks such as “Guli Mata,” “Yimmy Yimmy,” “Heer Ranjha,” “Hum Toh Deewane,” and the recently released “Zaalima.” The company also achieved major success with the Bollywood film soundtrack “Selfiee,” which garnered over 200 million streams globally and more than 400 million views on YouTube.
“Play DMF is consistently one of our most successful partners in India,” said Amit Sharma, Country Manager, India for Virgin Music Group. “Collaborating closely with Anshul and his team has been incredibly fruitful for all involved. We are honored to extend our partnership with them well into the next decade and look forward to exciting international collaborations. This long-term deal underscores our strong commitment to this partnership.”
“Partnering with Virgin Music Group aligns perfectly with my vision for Play DMF,” said Anshul Garg. “My goal is to create global music that places India on the world music map. With Virgin Music Group, we can achieve this on a much larger scale. Extending this partnership demonstrates the significant impact we are making in the global music scene, and we promise to continue delivering more chartbusters into the next decade.”
Kicking off the extended partnership is a brand-new track titled “Ittefaq,” featuring new-age composers Oaff and Savera, with Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi making his singing debut. The song is set for release on June 12th, and the music video, which also stars popular actor Wamiqa Gabbi alongside Siddhant, is a sleek, glamorous production shot in one take.
