Sidhu Moosewala’s most-awaited song, ‘SYL’ was released on Thursday, June 23, 2022, and became an instant hit with fans worldwide. ‘SYL’ is the first song of Sidhu Moosewala to be released posthumously.
The song is written, sung, and composed by Sidhu Moosewala, who was assassinated on May 29, 2022, in Mansa, Punjab. The track is produced by MXRCI, while Navkaran Brar does the video and artworks.
The song highlights the Satluj-Yamuna Link canal issue, Sikh prisoners, and the recent agitation against the farm laws. The video also captures shots of 1984 where people can be seen revolting against various laws; there is also a mention of the 1984 genocide in the song.
After his death, all his unfinished work was handed over to his father, Balkaur Singh.
“My son will remain connected to you through his songs. I will take inspiration from him,” Balkaur Singh was recently quoted as saying.
