Paul Mayson introduces his first-ever album ‘One Life,’ a culmination of his deep passion for house music and a blend of cross-genre elements with global collaborative flair. The album is a lively and optimistic interpretation of dance music, radiating a warm summer vibe. It’s a celebration of life, diversity, and freedom, echoing the uplifting essence of dance music while infused with the colors and tones of the genres that shaped his upbringing. The central focus, ‘Automatic,’ effortlessly marries the spirit of 90s house music with the charm of analog synths and guitars, a perfect fit for house and dance playlists. Additionally, the album unveils a more experimental facet of Paul’s musical creativity through tracks like ‘Tell Me How,’ ‘You Get Me High,’ and ‘I Want You,’ offering a touch of indie electronic experimentation.
The album also proudly features globally acclaimed artists, including Saint Sinner (USA-Grammy Nominated), Jono McCleery (UK-Ninja Tune), Isabel Usher (NL), and Sharlene Hector (UK-Basement Jaxx). Dutch visual artist Thomas van der Kooi enriches the project with a digital art piece, adding another layer of creativity to the experience.
Paul’s aspiration is to redefine boundaries within the dance music realm, emphasizing that the album is an amalgamation of diverse sounds and cultures, rooted in the heart of house music. He expresses his excitement about blending various genre elements and collaborating with an exceptional group of artists from diverse backgrounds, resulting in a harmonious fusion of sounds.
Early in his journey, Paul garnered international recognition as a club DJ and soon delved into producing and remixing for prominent figures in pop, dance, and hip-hop scenes. He crafted remixes for renowned names such as Far East Movement, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Yelawolf, Don Diablo, Nathan Sykes, and Sam Feldt. His official remix of the summer hit ‘Deep Down’ by Alok, Ella Eyre, and Kenny Dope, followed by his rework of Chicago’s iconic song ‘Street Player’ titled ‘Have It All,’ further solidified his position in the music scene. MTV and XITE acknowledged his talent, designating him as their ‘Push’ and ‘Kickstart’ artist, propelling him toward a unique and innovative approach to dance music. His artistry garnered support from fellow DJs like Axwell & Ingrosso, David Guetta, Oliver Heldens, Sam Feldt, Don Diablo, and Riton.
