Aksomaniac & Shreyas Collaborate on “PAAPAM”

Trivandrum-based artist Aksomaniac returns with his most vulnerable work yet — “PAAPAM”, a genre-defying single exploring the shadows of guilt, desire, and emotional duality. Featuring the compelling presence of Shreyas, a bold voice in the Marathi music scene, the track marries Malayalam and Marathi in a sonic confessional that’s as intimate as it is powerful.

PAAPAM by Aksomaniac & Shreyas Out Now

“PAAPAM” (meaning sin in Malayalam) is a raw outpouring — a swirling blend of ambient textures, soul-baring vocals, and bilingual lyricism that captures the weight of moral conflict. The song reflects the human condition with stark honesty: the longing for connection, the shame that lingers, and the paradox of comfort feeling like a curse.

Aksomaniac, a self-taught, multi-disciplinary artist with a background in Western classical music, explains:

“‘PAAPAM’ speaks to the residue left behind by intimacy—not because it’s wrong, but because we’re conditioned to feel it is. This song isn’t about resolution. It’s about naming the conflict, acknowledging how shame clings to even our most tender moments.”

He credits Shreyas for deepening the narrative:

“Shreyas’s verse doesn’t just complement the mood — it adds dimension. A voice from a different culture, yes, but carrying the same inner weight. That’s what made it feel so necessary and real.”

Shreyas Sagvekar, known for his socially charged work in tracks like “Taambdi Chaamdi” and “Paristhiti”, brings his signature intensity to the collaboration:

“When Aksomaniac shared ‘PAAPAM,’ I felt the honesty immediately. Exploring guilt through a fusion of Marathi and Malayalam felt deeply authentic. My verse adds another layer — a culturally different yet emotionally parallel story.”

Known for bending genres and pushing lyrical boundaries, Shreyas’s collaboration on PAAPAM furthers his reputation as an artist who fuses cultural identity with fearless storytelling. Rooted in R&B, jazz, blues, and pop influences, “PAAPAM” is more than a song — it’s a shared reckoning. For listeners drawn to emotional depth and sonic experimentation, this track is an immersive experience that lingers long after the last note
