Lainey Wilson leads CMT Music Awards nominations with four nods

Lainey Wilson

Lainey Wilson, a country singer, is the most nominated artist at this year’s CMT Music Awards, including for “Video of the Year.” When the candidates were announced, Lainey Wilson received four nods.

Lainey has been nominated in Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, Collaborative Video of the Year, and CMT Performance of the Year categories of the award show.

Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, a co-host on CMT, and Jelly Roll, a first-time contender, are three more prominent finalists. Brown and Kelsea Ballerini are back to present the programme.

For their final appearance at the 2022 CMT Music Awards, Wynonna Judd and her late mother, Naomi Judd, were nominated for two awards. Pop diva Katy Perry received her first nomination since 2015.

For the show’s top honour, video of the year, which Carrie Underwood currently holds the record for with 25 trophies, there are 16 finalists. She will perform in addition to being nominated once more for her “Hate My Heart” video.

The overall number of nominations is increased this year due to CMT dividing its breakthrough video of the year award into separate male and female divisions.

The Moody Center in Austin, Texas, will host the 2023 CMT Music Awards on April 2. Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini will serve as hosts.
