American singer Halsey has announced she is auctioning off a series of paintings to support the National Network of Abortion Funds. Halsey will auction off five original paintings made onstage during ‘Love and Power Tour,’ with the proceeds going to Abortions Funds.
These paintings are on display at Sotheby’s Contemporary Discoveries auction in New York, available online with a starting bid of $5,000 per piece. The bid amount is expected to reach $7,000, with the auction wrapping up on July 19.
According to Rolling Stone, she created these pieces during the live performance in Alabama, Nashville, Detroit, Boston, and Oregon.
Halsey has been quite vocal since the US Supreme Court overturned the abortion law that had been in place for 50 years in the country.
Recently, Halsey wrote a note to reveal how abortion saved her life.
“Many people have asked me if, since carrying a child to term after years of struggling to do so, I have reconsidered my stance on abortion. The answer is firmly no. In fact, I have never felt more strongly about it. My abortion saved my life and gave way for my son to have his. Every person deserves the right to choose when, if, and how they have this dangerous and life-altering experience. I will hold my son in one arm, and fight with all my might with the other,” she wrote.
