Pandey, popular for her work in the entertainment industry and vibrant social media presence, shared a video on Instagram where she addressed her followers, stating, “I feel compelled to share something significant with you all – I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease.”

The model-actor went on to highlight the preventable nature of cervical cancer, emphasizing the importance of the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. Pandey urged her followers to empower each other with critical awareness, ensuring that every woman is informed about the steps to take. The unexpected news of Poonam Pandey’s ‘death’ was initially confirmed by her manager through an official announcement on Instagram. The statement, posted on February 2, expressed deep sadness and requested privacy for the team during the challenging time. “Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness,” the announcement read.

As the news of her ‘death’ circulated, fans and well-wishers expressed condolences on social media, unaware of the awareness campaign Pandey had planned. The revelation has now sparked discussions not only about cervical cancer but also about the responsibility of public figures in utilizing their platform for meaningful causes. The actress is receiving mixed reactions on social media platform.

Pandey’s manager stated, “She got detected with cancer sometime back, and it was in the latter stages. She was in her hometown in Uttar Pradesh, and the funeral will mostly happen there.” The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and her fans, who had been unaware of her health struggles.

Poonam Pandey, who made her Bollywood debut with the 2013 film ‘Nasha,’ gained widespread popularity not only for her acting skills but also for her vibrant presence on social media platforms. The actor and model, known for her bold persona, achieved further fame after participating in the reality show ‘Lock Upp.’

The announcement of her demise was made through a statement posted on Pandey’s official Instagram handle. The statement read, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
