IFPI Announced BTS as the “IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award” in 2021 Again, Sets New Record

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is a non-profit organization representing the recording industry’s interests worldwide. It is a Swiss-registered non-profit membership organization created in Italy in 1933. The 21st-century pop icons, BTS has been named the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award for 2021. The announcement represents a historic event in the music industry on 24th Feb 2022, as the South Korean group becomes the first to win the prize for two years in a row.

On this auspicious event, Frances Moore, Chief Executive of IFPI said, “BTS’ phenomenal success over the last year is a testament to their creativity, hard work and ongoing commitment to continuing to find ways to bring their music to the world. By performing in three different languages, they demonstrate their extraordinarily unique global appeal and their dynamic and passionate fanbase has helped to make them the first artists in history to top the Global Artist Chart in two consecutive years.”

Further, she added, “We would like to wish RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook and all who work on their team huge congratulations on winning the Global Recording Artist of the Year Award and on another year of brilliant success.”

It’s a huge accomplishment in the music industry. It’s not easy to win such a prestigious prize two years in a row. It’s only possible because of their dedication, determination, and never-ending efforts. GrooveNexus wishes BTS the best of luck in their future endeavors.
