May 14, 2015, marked the debut of Hyungwon with Monsta X, unleashing their first EP, “Trespass.” Beyond the group, Hyungwon’s artistic spectrum widened. His venture into DJing, under the moniker DJ H.ONE, began in 2017. This phase saw him collaborate with DJ Justin Oh, performing at KCON events and Ultra Music Festival Korea.

September 2017 witnessed the release of “BAM!BAM!BAM!,” Hyungwon’s collaboration with DJ Justin Oh, featuring fellow group member Jooheon. His DJing prowess was further showcased with singles like “My Name” and participation in Pepsi’s The Love of Summer: The Performance.

In 2020, Hyungwon showcased his songwriting skills, contributing to Monsta X’s album “Fatal Love” with the track “Nobody Else.” The song not only demonstrated his musical versatility but also charted on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart in January 2021.

2020–Present: Expanding Horizons and Sub-Unit Debut

Hyungwon’s creative journey continued to evolve. In June 2021, he and Minhyuk joined the cast of the Youtube channel Inssa Oppa, bringing entertainment with a twist of trends. Collaborating with VIXX’s Hongbin and producer dress, he contributed to Pepsi’s Taste of Korea summer campaign with the single “Cool Love” in July 2019.

The dynamic year 2020 saw Hyungwon embracing songwriting more deeply. His involvement in crafting “Beside U” for Monsta X’s album showcased his growing influence in the production process. The expansion continued as he starred in the KakaoTV musical web series “Fly Again” and released the OST “Picture.”

The year 2023 marked a significant milestone with the formation of Monsta X’s first official sub-unit, “Shownu X Hyungwon.” Their debut EP, “The Unseen,” featuring the lead single “Love Me a Little,” revealed Hyungwon’s prowess not just as a performer but as a producer.

Despite facing the challenges of COVID-19, Hyungwon’s resilience shone through. From attending DJing parties to being cast in TVING’s drama “CEO-dol Mart,” alongside Exo’s Xiumin and Lee Shin-young, his schedule showcased his diverse talents.

In March 2023, he assumed the role of a special MC on SBS’ Inkigayo, continuing to make waves in the entertainment realm. His participation in various events, such as the pop-up store opening of Tommy Hilfiger’s capsule collection, underscored his presence as a fashion icon.

As of November 14, 2023, Hyungwon has commenced his mandatory military service as an active duty soldier, marking a temporary hiatus from his bustling career.
