Liam Payne hospitalized with serious kidney infection, postpones South America tour

Former One Direction singer Liam Payne recently disclosed that he had been hospitalized due to a “serious” kidney infection, leading to the postponement of his upcoming tour in South America, which was scheduled to kick off next month. 

The 29-year-old artist shared the unfortunate news in an Instagram post with his fans. He expressed his regret about delaying the tour and provided insights into his health situation. Liam wrote, “It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America. Over the past week, I’ve been in hospital with a serious kidney infection. It’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctor orders are that I now need to rest and recover.” 

The performer, who had been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to perform on stage, expressed his disappointment at the unforeseen setback. 

Liam Payne apologises to fans 

Liam reassured those who had already purchased tickets that they would be fully reimbursed. He went on to express gratitude for his fans’ understanding and unwavering support. “To all of you who have bought tickets, I’m so sorry,” he conveyed. “We’re working to reschedule the tour as soon as we possibly can, but for now, we will be refunding the tickets… Thanks as always for the love and support, and I look forward to seeing you soon.” 

In a video message accompanying his announcement, Liam revealed that he had been feeling “a little bit unwell” in recent weeks. He expressed confidence in the “best people” overseeing his medical care. 

The tour was originally planned to commence in Peru on September 1, subsequently journeying through Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. 

As Liam Payne focuses on his recovery, fans around the world are undoubtedly sending him their well wishes and eagerly awaiting his return to the stage once he is back in good health.
