Camila Cabello is set to release a new song on May 12 that references her time with ex-boyfriend Shawn Mendes at Coachella. The singer shared a preview of the ‘June Gloom’ track on her Instagram, captioned with the date “4.12” (April 12) and a flower emoji.
In the song, she questions if the relationship will end and asks if Mendes will be attending Coachella.
A video that showed the two vocalists dancing, hugging, and eventually sharing a kiss at the festival surfaced online.
“How come you’re just so much better / Is this going to end ever? / I guess I’ll f*** around and find out.”
“Are you comin’ to Coachella? If you don’t, miss, whatever. If you do, honey, it will be all I think about.”
Despite their breakup two years ago, the celebrity pair still have affection for each other.
“Camila and Shawn were talking and spending time together for months before Coachella. They always had a lot of love for each other, even while they were broken up. They still care about each other,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
According to an insider, Camila and Shawn had intended to see each other at Coachella, but their recent kiss does not mean they have reconciled their relationship.
The source mentioned that they had been communicating over the last few weeks and had discussed their breakup. Despite the split, they still have feelings for each other and have a connection, but it’s currently a casual relationship.
The insider stated that they had fun during the festival’s first night and that there was an undeniable chemistry between them that those around them could sense.
“They knew they were heading to Coachella and had plans to meet and hang out.”
“Shawn and Camila had been in touch the last few weeks and have cleared the air about their breakup. It’s very casual at this point. There is still a connection between them, and both shared that they still care about one another.
