1001tracklists.com pushes list for top 101 producers 2018

After the DJ Mag controversial spots, 1001tracklist has come into light with its own list of the “top 101 producers 2018”.
1001tracklists rolls out sets played by DJs, track support and has recently started with the list of best producers; something very similar to the DJ Mag list except that the former has 101 entries in it.

The top 101 producers 2018 list claims to have compiled solid data to an extent to which a DJ’s discography is supported by the industry. Be it the number of ‘plays’ an artist has on Spotify, Youtube or other major platforms. Don Diablo, the master of the future house, tops the list and took on his Instagram handle to talk about all that he has gone through in his career. Below is the embedded post.

CRAZY! JUST heard I’m the #1 most played producer of the YEAR ????! I GREW up being the underdog, never really had any friends so spent most of my time working several jobs to buy studio equipment. Eventually I became a pale faced overweight studio hermit who barely left the house (swipe left). I honestly never thought I would end up where I am today. Most of the days I had a hard time looking at myself in the mirror or finding self confidence in any shape or form. Being a great producer is not just about technical skills, it’s also about having a vision and trying out new things. This list is not based on who is the best or most popular, it’s based on a mathematical algorithm that purely displays facts, so: THANKS a million to all the DJ’s and FANS who supported my vision and can’t wait to keep pushing things forward. Also much love to all the talent on my HEXAGON label, proud of every single artist we release. To all the aspiring producers out there: don’t give up, but also don’t expect thing to happen quickly. You need to put blood, sweat and tears into your work and be able to accept disappointments on a daily basis. THAT is what I have done for many years and that is what will set you apart from the rest. TODAY is a GOOD day! LOVE you GUYS ❤️

While the dubstep legend Skrillex falls down one spot to #2 and other EDM legends like Axwell, Hardwell, Tiesto remain in the top 10. The fallen legend Avicii held the #10 spot in the list.

1001tracklists quotes, “Remember, these rankings are 100% driven from DJ support data from October 1, 2017 – September 30, 2018. A fun, unique, and accurate representation of whose music was played the most this past year!!”

It seems ambiguous to find artists like KSHMR, Brooks down in the list. KSHMR has been placed at #93 while Brooks at #53. Refer to this article here to find whats suspicious in this newly defined list.
