Kash Trivedi, a top-notch DJ, Producer & TedX speaker, is from Gujarat, India. Previously, he was ranked the No. 1 producer in India by MyFavDJ in 2013. Kash has performed at Asia’s biggest music festivals like Sunburn, Enchanted Valley Carnival, etc. Almost all his songs get in the top 10 lists of Beatport Top 100 Songs & DJ Tracks, and he is also the first-ever Indian to have released with legendary international music artists like Paul Oakenfold and DJ Sash.
Kash has made 200 official releases and has played at more than 500 concerts with a jam-packed audience. The man is known for pumping life into the air through his thumping beats.
Producer & DJ reveals how one may apply self-discipline toward their passion for fueling their pursuit of aspirations in an exclusive interview with Ashita Chawla of GrooveNexus.
Ashita Chawla: How would you describe Kash Trivedi’s Music?
Kash Trivedi: I would say Kash’s music is profoundly emotional yet full of zeal and vivacity. It takes its own pace for the listeners to get hooked on its tunes.
Ashita: You have travelled a lot in India and internationally. What region do you think inspires your work the most?
Kash: I love my nation, India. Awe-inspiringly beautiful places inspire some tracks I have created, but people hardly hear their names. I feel the amalgamation of Indian classical Music, and international beats are hidden in every song’s core. I strive to create a mix of tunes that justifies the Indian culture, locale’s core emotions, landscapes, and ethnic culture yet be internationally tasteful.
Ashita: You have been associated with Sunburn for quite a long time; how does that make you feel?
Kash: Sunburners (Sunburn fanatics) believe it to be a mantra for life and not just a festival. I am extremely pleased to be vital to this life-sized electronic music fiesta. Team Sunburn has become a family figure for me in this exciting decade-long journey.
Ashita: To what do you owe your success? Who has been your greatest support in becoming a Progressive DJ & Producer?
Kash: There are a ton of people whom I would bow down with a hats-off for being instrumental in making my music career, but I would foremost bow down to Goddess Saraswati, who blessed me at every climbing step. Every artist’s journey is filled with highs and lows, and I am glad to have the constant support of my close friends and listeners, who supported my art and became a critique when needed. And I must thank my lovely wife for believing in my art and supporting me like a pillar in every endeavour.
Ashita: You have been in the industry for a long time. What has your journey been like? How have you grown as a DJ & a producer?
Kash: I have been performing as a Disco Jockey since the start of the millennium. And in these 20+ years, there were days when I felt stuck and couldn’t find my way out of the creative blocks, but my local fan base kept my spirits grounded. Ahmedabad’s love and admiration for my tracks made me believe in myself not just as a DJ but as a record producer too. The emergence of electronic music and the internet became a playground for budding DJs like me, who produced original tracks and wanted to test the waters of the international market. In no time, I was traveling to major cities in India to play my tracks, and then thanks to the internet, I could expand my fan base to the USA, Europe, and other nations.
Ashita: Take us through the creative process that inspired you to create your latest single, Karnavati.
Kash: My first Album was “The Journey To India,” an ode to the places, people, landscapes, and culture of my nation. Ahmedabad, India’s first World Heritage City, is my hometown, and it is said that in the 11th century, Karna, the Chaulukya (Solanki) ruler of Anhilwara (modern Patan), waged a successful war against the Bhil king of Ashaval, and established a city called Karnavati on the banks of the Sabarmati. I love this story of courage as deeply as I love the streets and roads of this city that are hundreds of years old – thus Karnavati, a city of many tales, bravery, and memories.
Hardwell’s recent introduction of a hybrid genre called Future Rave Techno fascinated me with its formation and style. Thus, I decided to amalgamate Indian Ethnic voices blended with Future rave techno elements in Karnavati. This track has been stapled in my playlist in all my recent concerts, and the crowd response has been amazing. The track is also charting on the Top 100 Beatport list.
Ashita: How would you describe your audience?
Kash: Whether it’s a small club or a sizeable open-air music festival – my audience is happy, cheerful, and soulful. When I try to spread positivity through progressive music they always reciprocate to me with equal love, cheers, and flying kisses.
Ashita: Tell us something about Lohit Records. When did you find it?
Kash: Lohit was the brainchild of my friend Kay Mikado, a successful music artist who became a little engaged in other businesses and handed it over to me as a gift. Today I am proud to continue Lohit’s legacy by featuring globally admired music artists and young-budding DJs who are perpetually searching public platforms to showcase their talent.
Ashita: Are there any other projects that you’re working on?
Kash: Music is not just life but a source of living for me. It sponsors my breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so new projects constantly flow like fluids. A few pop vocal original projects with major record labels are already pipelined to be unveiled in 2023. Still, my 2023 new year resolution is to create one album that compiles a remastered compilation of all my hit tracks that were released between 2010 to 2015.
Ashita: If you must collaborate for a new single, who would you collaborate with and why?
Kash: Like many teenagers, my teenage years were glued to the television, watching Channel V and MTV. During those years, I picked favouritism toward a few music producers and vocalists – now, I plan to collaborate with them and produce something harmonious. I dream of remixing Nadia Ali’s hit singles.
I have been fortunate enough to make official remixes for Right Said Fred, Sash, Paul Oakenfold, and OPUS III, but I would love to make Axwell-style Music, soothing yet energetic and impactful.
Ashita: What is your mission as a music artist?
Kash: Just for laughs – If music has healing properties, my mission is to become a doctor. When a young mind, tired from all the hustle and bustle of the weekdays, unwinds in a club on the weekend, I want to give them a happy trip through electronic music.

Kash: My deep message to all the readers is to strive for what you dream of and never give up on hope. If I can humbly begin as a small music playlist curator and become one of India’s top music producers, anything is possible!
