Born on March 27, 1997, in Bangkok, Thailand, Lisa Manoban, also known as Pranpriya Manoban, later changed her name to Lalisa, following the advice of a spiritualist who believed it would bring her success. Prior to adopting her stage name, ‘Lisa,’ she was also known by various other nicknames such as Liz, Pokpak, and Thailand Princess. Lisa has an older sister who resides in Thailand.
Lisa Blackpink developed a passion for music and dance at a young age and attended Praphamontree II School in Thailand. She joined a dance company with her childhood friend, BamBam, who went on to become a member of the South Korean boy band, ‘Got7.’ Lisa trained with the company for five years until 2016 and during this time, she had the opportunity to perform with other emerging artists such as MV Taeyang of ‘Big Bang,’ Bobby, and Mino of ‘YG Entertainment.’
