Introduction
Harshita Baranwal is a well-known vocalist and video content creator from Lakhimpur, UP. Born on 17th March 1995, Harshita has always been inclined towards music and started learning Indian Classical music while she was in school. She trained in Indian Classical music from Prayag University for six years and began performing at events and festivals when she was 21.
Family and Education
Since her parents Sudhir Kumar Baranwal and r Meetshikha Baranwal are teachers themselves, they always emphasized the importance of education and motivated her to complete her higher studies. Harshita finished her post-graduation in Biochemistry from Lucknow University while she was getting her training in Indian Classical at the same time. Harshita wanted to learn more about Indian classical and its Raagas. Her Dadi Dr. Kalindi Baranwal is a retired professor of classical music, hence she supported Harshita in pursuing music. Further she learned Semiclassical music from her guruji Sitanshu Tiwari sir who is also the owner of Swar Sangam Sangeet Vidyapeeth. She considers her parents to be the greatest pillar of strength in her life and she feels blessed to have parents who support her and trust her with her career choices. She further says that “every parent should be like that and should support their children and stand with them no matter what.” Harshita also has a brother, Umang Baranwal, who is also incredibly supportive of her work and helps her out in video editing and sound engineering as he is an engineer himself. Her aunt Jyotishikha Baranwal and her uncle Rajeev Gupta have also supported her in her musical career, and they always inspire her to try new things. Her friends also encourage her to do better and succeed at making a name for herself in music.
Musical Journey
When she started learning music, she also explored other genres like Opera and classical, pop, rock, country, adult contemporary and many more. She got inspired make an original along with music producers, and she collaborated with many producers like Traxeon, Swattrex and Prizm Production across India. She created her cover of Rozana originally sung by Shreya Ghoshal for the first time on her YouTube channel and got a great response for it in 2018. She collaborated with Traxeon and KingAP for an original Rap song “Ek shaam” in KingAP’s album 2k16 recently. Album 2K16 is released under GrooveNexus Records and is available on all streaming platforms worldwide. One of her upcoming tracks “Jashn ki Raat” will be out soon. She loves to work on her craft and polish her voice as a singer every day. She was even featured by T-Series, Indie label music, Merchant records, Flipkart and IPML official on Instagram for her good renditions of music covers.
Apart from singing, Harshita has a keen interest in acting. She is obsessed with Madhuri Dixit Nene and loves to make Instagram reels as well. She also has a following of 30,000+ on Josh app. She has also sung an Item song for the movie “Skip town” which is will be released soon. She derives her inspiration from singing maestro Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and famous Bollywood playback singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Richa Sharma, Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh and Armaan Malik.
