Born on March 27, 1997, in Bangkok, Thailand, Lisa Manoban, also known as Pranpriya Manoban, later changed her name to Lalisa, following the advice of a spiritualist who believed it would bring her success. Prior to adopting her stage name, ‘Lisa,’ she was also known by various other nicknames such as Liz, Pokpak, and Thailand Princess. Lisa has an older sister who resides in Thailand. 

Lisa BLACKPINK developed a passion for music and dance at a young age and attended Praphamontree II School in Thailand. She joined a dance company with her childhood friend, BamBam, who went on to become a member of the South Korean boy band, ‘Got7.’ Lisa trained with the company for five years until 2016 and during this time, she had the opportunity to perform with other emerging artists such as MV Taeyang of ‘Big Bang,’ Bobby, and Mino of ‘YG Entertainment.’ 

Personal Life 

Lisa BLACKPINK is a devotee of Buddhism. She speaks fluent Thai, Korean, Japanese, and English, and is partial to western food and culture. During an interview, BLACKPINK Lisa told her fans that she is prohibited from dating, smoking, and drinking alcohol. Therefore, she is single and has no boyfriend as of now. 

Despite her busy schedule, Lisa has remained actively involved in charity work and has donated to various causes, including COVID-19 relief efforts and the Black Lives Matter movement.

The band’s single, ‘Dhu-du Dhu-du,’ was released initially in Korean and later in Japanese and English languages to reach out to a bigger fan base. The song broke all K-pop records with more than 36 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release and was nominated for the ‘Video of the Year’ at the ‘Break Tudo Awards.’ Manoban showed up on the front of the Japanese magazine, ‘Nylon,’ in June 2018, and was shot for a video to promote the magazine.
