His live sets at big music festivals such as Tomorrowland and Ultra are well-known.

Hardwell was named World’s No. 1 DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll in 2013, solidifying his status as the electronic scene’s newest superstar DJ and making him the youngest ever winner of the prestigious Top 100 DJs title. Complex drum ensembles, bold synths, and emotive chords define his sound. Hardwell debuted at No. 24 in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll in 2011, rising to No. 6 in the 2012 edition before being named World’s No. 1 DJ in 2013. DJ Hardwell began his career as a hip-hop DJ, but when hip-hop became more underground, he transitioned to a different genre: commercial electronic dance music. This is about Dj Hardwell.

Career

As hip-hop became an underground culture, Hardwell switched to commercial electronic dance music and, at the age of 14, Hardwell signed a record deal with Dutch production duo Klubbheads” ”Digidance.” Three weeks later, he published his first official two-disc album, ”Bubbling Beats 1,” and went on to tour the Netherlands, performing in a variety of dance venues.

Hardwell’s first official track, ”Play It Around,” was published in 2006 and became a hit in German clubs. He mixed his approach with various popular musical styles for the single. Hardwell worked with Great ski on the song “Never Knew Love,” published at the end of 2007, and became his first Top 40 success in Germany, peaking at No. 32. His collaborations with Dutch DJ and producer R3hab on Gregor Salto and Chuckie’s ”Toys Are’ and Sidney Samson and Skitzofrenix ”You Do Not Love Me” also topped the dance charts for weeks.

In December 2008, Hardwell released an official cover version of Robin S.’sS.’s ”Show Me, Love,” a mash up of ”Be” by Steve Angello and Laidback Luke and ”Be” by Hardwell. After performing on stage with Tisto, he produced the official song of the Dance Valley Festival, titled “Twilight Zone.”
In 2010, he launched his record label, ”Revealed Recordings,” which served as a springboard for new electronic dance music artists. He issued a compilation album each year, including his new songs and recordings released by the label. For the label’s fifth anniversary he released 100 of the most popular tunes picked by fans on his website.

In 2011, Tiesto and Hardwell collaborated on the track “Zero 76,” which was titled after the Breda phone prefix “076.” The tune ”Cobra” reached the top of dance music charts worldwide and was chosen as the official anthem of the ”Energy, The Network’ festival, one of Europe’s largest indoor events.
