After Aaron Carter’s unexpected death last month, Nick Carter has spoken out about performing with the Backstreet Boys. In a recent interview with Extra, Nick Carter discussed what it was like to perform on stage with the boy band a day after his younger brother died at the age of 34.
Aaron, the lead vocalist of ‘I Want Candy,’ was found dead on November 5 in his California home, and Nick performed with the Backstreet Boys the next day at a concert in London.
Aaron was honoured during the Backstreet Boys’ concert with an exceptional performance of their song ‘No Place.’
“It was very emotional for me, having my guys with me. That night, it was tough to get up on stage,” he said of the performance.
“There’s the old saying the show must go on, that’s been with us for years, but that night, I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know what was going to come from it getting on that stage. Getting the reaction from the fans was definitely comforting, and it meant a lot to me,” Nick Carter added.
The 42-year-old singer broke down when his bandmate Kevin Richardson introduced the song. Nick was comforted by his fellow musicians on stage.
“Tonight, we’ve got heavy hearts because we lost one of our family members yesterday, and we just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognize him,” Kevin said.
