Fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place, says Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion is prioritizing her well-being and won’t release new music until she feels emotionally and mentally ready. The 28-year-old rapper is still healing from the traumatic incident of being shot at by Tory Lanez and going through a lengthy trial. Megan is currently focusing on her mental and physical health and wants to ensure she’s in the right mindset before putting out new songs.

Tory Lanez, 30, was convicted in December on three felony counts, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm, related to the 2020 incident involving Megan Thee Stallion. In an interview with InStyle, she mentioned that fans can expect new music once she has found a better place within herself. She is currently prioritizing her healing process.

“Fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place. Right now, I’m focused on healing,” Megan Thee Stallion said.

For now, Megan is dedicating time to self-care, spending time with her dogs, exercising, watching TV shows, and discovering new ways to protect her peace. She emphasized the importance of balance and taking time off in the music and entertainment industry to prevent burnout.

“The music and entertainment industry can be a grind, so it’s important to take time off and avoid burning out. Life is all about balance,” she said.

Excited to get back into music

Megan’s last studio album was “Traumazine,” released in 2022. She recently expressed that she is more than just her trauma and doesn’t plan to continuously relive that traumatic experience for the sake of her mental health. Instead, she wants to change the narrative surrounding her and sees this as a rebirth into a happier and healthier version of herself.

The shooting incident and Tory Lanez’s conviction have profoundly affected Megan, transforming her perspective. She considers herself a survivor and embraces the ups and downs of her journey. Megan is excited to return to music, as she has undergone significant personal growth. She is exploring new songs and sounds she can’t wait to share with her fans.

“I’m a survivor, and I have – and will continue – to embrace the highs and lows of my journey. I’m excited to get back into music because I have been so transformed. I’m playing around with new songs and sounds that I can’t wait for everyone to hear,” she said.
