BLACKPINK member Jennie has apologized for leaving her group’s concert in Melbourne, Australia, early on Sunday due to health concerns. This sudden departure left fans concerned, but her management agency, YG Entertainment, later provided an update on Jennie’s health, confirming that she is currently recovering.
The K-pop idol took to Instagram to share a statement with her fans, saying that she is “doing her best to recover” and is “so sorry” for not being able to finish the show.
“Dear Melbourne Blinks, I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to finish the show on Sunday,” Jennie wrote. “I’m doing my best to recover at the moment. Your understanding and support mean the world to me. Thank you to everyone who came out to our Melbourne show. Love you, guys.”
Before the concert, the blackpink start Jennie was also absent from the soundcheck session in Melbourne, as confirmed by Soompi. Reportedly, fellow member Rose had mentioned Jennie’s illness and stated that she was resting to conserve her energy for the main concert. Jennie had initially hoped to complete the entire show but unfortunately had to leave the stage when her health further deteriorated.
Is Jennie joining MCU?
Jennie’s management agency, YG Entertainment, also released a statement, saying that the singer had been feeling unwell before the show and had “deteriorating health” during the performance.
“Jennie expressed her strong determination to carry on with the performance until the end,” YG Entertainment said. “However, following medical advice on site, we immediately took measures to ensure she receives ample rest and stability.”
These developments occur amidst rumors of Jennie joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which have been generating significant buzz. YG Entertainment has denied speculations of her involvement with the Agents of Atlas team. Jennie recently made her acting debut in the international web series “The Idol,” which also features Abel Tesfaye, popularly known as The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.
