K-pop sensation BTS marked its 10th anniversary earlier this week, and the celebrations will continue until July 9, coinciding with ARMY Day in the fandom. As part of the commemoration, the globally beloved supergroup will release its first official book, “Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS.” The official trailer for the book has been unveiled, generating excitement among fans.
Described as an oral history of the group, the book is a collaborative effort involving the BTS members and journalist Kang Myeongseok. A sneak peek of the book’s cover has also been revealed, adding to its release anticipation.
The official trailer takes a nostalgic look at the group’s journey over the past decade. Fans can expect the book to be available on July 9, 2023.
According to a recent announcement by BigHit Music, BTS’ label, the book will be initially published in Korean and later translated into 23 other languages. The statement mentioned, “The Original Edition is the Korean language edition. The book is published in 23 languages, and pre-order & delivery schedules may vary per each language edition.”
The Mystery Surrounding the Book
Previously, the book was listed without an official title, author, or synopsis. Speculation arose when fans noticed that its original release date coincided with a nonfiction title about a celebrity announced by Flatiron Books earlier this year. Despite the mystery surrounding the book, it quickly soared to the top of bestseller lists.
The mystery was finally solved when Flatiron officially announced, “Beyond The Story,” written by journalist Myeongseok Kang and group members. The book will delve into the meteoric rise of the K-pop band and will be published in South Korea by BigHit Music. Flatiron will provide an English translation, led by Anton Hur, featuring 544 pages and exclusive photographs.
This highly anticipated memoir will be released when BTS’ influence continues to expand. Earlier this year, the seven members of BTS – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – visited the White House to discuss the rise of Asian American hate crimes in the U.S. With nine albums and six EPs under their belt.
As the first K-pop group to achieve a No. 1 spot on Billboard’s album chart, BTS announced plans to take a break from group activities to pursue solo projects. It was subsequently confirmed that the members would fulfill their mandatory military service in South Korea following the law.
